Guaranteed Buyer launches 150 MW solar support auctions including 100 MW solar-plus-storage
Last editorial update:
On 31 August 2026 Ukraine’s Guaranteed Buyer launched two auctions for a combined 150 MW of renewable support: 50 MW pure solar PV (price cap €0.08/kWh) and 100 MW solar-plus-storage (cap €0.12/kWh). Storage must provide at least 80% of solar capacity and 2 kWh per kW. Support is time-of-day limited; bids close 24 September with auction on 25 September via Prozorro.Sale. Eligible regions span Dnipropetrovsk to Zhytomyr, Kyiv and Cherkasy.
Why it matters
Directly opens bankable offtake for new 5-100 MW solar and hybrid solar-BESS projects via 12-year market premium. Eligible regions include western and central oblasts (Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy) preferred for lower security risk and better grid access. Storage sizing rules (min 80% power, 2 kWh/kW) create clear technical templates and improve project economics for flexibility services. Bid deadline 24 September provides immediate origination window.
