Last editorial update:

Policy & RegulationGenerationStorage / BESS

JSC Guaranteed Buyer has announced three online auctions via Prozorro.Sale for September 2026 to allocate 850 MW of support quotas: 700 MW wind (30 September, price cap 8 EUR ct/kWh), 100 MW solar-plus-storage (25 September, 12 EUR ct/kWh, BESS ≥80% of SPP capacity and ≥2 kWh/kW), and 50 MW pure solar (25 September, 8 EUR ct/kWh). Eligible regions include Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava and others in central and selected eastern/southern areas. Support duration is 12 years under the market-premium mechanism.

Why it matters

The dedicated 100 MW solar-plus-storage tranche and overall quota expansion create immediate origination pipelines for hybrid projects in the 5-100 MW range that match the Ukraine Energy Intelligence focus. Price caps and technical requirements for storage favour projects that can deliver evening flexibility, aligning with system needs amid attack-driven balancing challenges. Investors gain clearer near-term offtake visibility in eligible central regions.
