First Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal told the Verkhovna Rada on 21 August that Ukraine aims to commission 3 GW of distributed gas generation by end-2026 (1.8 GW already online and fully operational; another ~800 MW / ~260 installations under construction; plus ~300 MW by state companies). Available system capacity is planned to rise from ~15 GW currently to 19.6 GW by 1 November and 21.4 GW by year-end, supported by ongoing repairs, nuclear maintenance progress and gas storage at 14.3 bcm.
