Last editorial update:

On 13 August 2026 the Cabinet of Ministers updated procedures for renewable energy support quota auctions. Key changes: alternative financial security to Guaranteed Buyer instead of bank guarantee, reduced size of bank guarantees, and extended deadlines for confirming grid connection. Auctions under the new rules are scheduled for September–October 2026 covering the increased 1 GW annual quota.

Why it matters

Lowers entry barriers and capital lock-up for 5–100 MW wind, solar and especially Solar+ESS projects under the expanded 1 GW 2026 quota (including dedicated 100 MW hybrid quota). Reduced guarantees and flexible security instruments improve bankability and accelerate origination timelines for western and central Ukrainian sites before autumn auctions.
